Group Description:
Weekly gatherings for high functioning teens on the autism spectrum and/or other developmental disabilities supervised by a qualified autism professional. A safe place where teens can meet new friends and participate in activities with peers, such as dance nights, game nights, social hangout time, etc.
This group will also co-exist as a social skills group. The learning of social skills will offer an opportunity for teens on the autism spectrum to practice their social skills with each other and/or typical peers. Teens on the autism spectrum need help in learning how to act in different types of social situations. They often have the desire to interact with other peers but may not know how to engage others or may be overwhelmed by the idea of new experiences. The social skills piece of the group will focus on building social skills through group projects, activities, and games. Teen siblings are welcomed.
More group options are coming soon.
