Susan is a Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Intern specializing in children and adolescent, individual, and family therapy. Among her areas of expertise are working with children and families dealing with chronic illness and hospice issues, as well as depression, anxiety, and life adjustments.
Susan's background is in medicine as she worked as a Physician Assistant for 15 years before becoming a teacher of science and psychology at both the high school and university level. It was her work as a P.A. that made her realize the strong interconnection of mind, body, and spirit. She returned to school and received her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2014. Susan trained with Don Ostendorf, LMFT, for two years during her internship. She benefited from his extensive knowledge, as well as his many years of experience in the Redding area.
Susan is excited to now be associated with Dunamis Counseling and Wellness Center where the whole person is addressed. She incorporates aspects of mind/body/spirit as she works with you in a compassionate and supportive way toward achieving wholeness and healing.
Susan integrates complementary methods and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. She strives to help each individual to help build strengths and move closer to personal growth, and development of the whole person.
